Oktoberfest or Marzen style beers are stronger than traditional Munich Helles lagers, because there used to be a ban on brewing during the summer months. The boiling part of the brewing process was deemed a fire hazard, so breweries had to brew enough beer in March (März) to last throughout the summer. For the beers to last into early Autumn, they were made stronger - hence the birth of the style! Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen is considered to be one of the best Oktoberfest beers. Pouring a pale amber colour, Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen offers up a rich bouquet of malt aromas. The first sip reveals caramel sweetness, balanced by a slight bitterness from the fresh, grassy hops. Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen is part of our Oktoberfest beer range.
